Mural for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

On November 25th, around the world, we recognize the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which was designated by the United Nations to combat and raise awareness of the fact that women around the world are subject to various forms of violence. The date is based on the date of the assassination of the three Mirabal sisters in the Dominican Republic ordered by dictator Trujillo.

Fundación Triunfadora recognizes this day and every day as a day to eliminate violence against women. To commemorate the day, we had a mural painted in a high-traffic area to educate the community about violence, particularly domestic violence, and send a message that all women have the right to be free and happy without fear of violence.
